Treat yourself to dinner at the “Cuillère à Omble” restaurant

Drinks before dinner in a spectacular setting

We arrived at the Cuillère à Omble at the tail end of the afternoon. After parking our car in the free parking lot just a few dozen meters from the restaurant, we walked up the steps onto the beautiful deck overlooking the lake. It felt like we were standing in a postcard!

Dorothée welcomed us with her warm smile, and recommended that we order a glass of “Solegiatto,” one of the house’s specialties. We obliged, enjoying our drinks while relaxing in lounge chairs on the deck and marveling at the beautiful sunset. The views of the lake, so calm, at this hour were simply breathtaking. Right across the street from the restaurant is a private pier where we were able to take a few great photos!

Lake-inspired dinner: a fervor for fish

And then it was dinnertime. We selected our meal from menu filled with a wide variety incredible fish-based dishes; choosing was not easy! In the end, we opted for local fish, and what a treat! European cisco rillettes (a fish from Lake Annecy) as an hors d’oeuvre, crayfish gratin for an appetizer, filet of arctic char served with vegetables and an amazing risotto; truly a meal to die for! Everything was fresh, incredibly tasty, and homemade! Patrick, the chef, talked to us all about fish with true fervor and a twinkle in his eye. He also explained to us about the high standards he sets, and his drive to serve high-quality food to ensure a great dining experience.
